Touch is universally beneficial for all animals especially for all social animals such as humans and canines. For this reason massage for canines is becoming very popular. If you've ever had a massage, you will agree that it relaxes muscle tension, relieves stress, and just plain feels good.

In our society of chronic stress canines can suffer from show jitters, separation anxiety, thunderstorm phobia, post-surgery stress, temperament problems, and even reflect their owner's or handler's stress.  Dogs feeling stress in a new environment, working dogs with sore muscles, or older pets with chronic aches can benefit from massage as well. These are only a few areas that canine massage is beneficial for our four legged companions.

The body operates through balance, and each muscle affects other muscles and bones they are connected to. Massage works by increasing blood circulation which removes metabolic waste products, decreases swelling, improves flexibility, and accelerates healing. When massage techniques are properly applied they can help keep the body toned and in balance. At dog shows this allows the dog to relax and show their best for the judges. In the home environment the dog is happier and healthier.
